A home inspection is an opportunity for you to hire an expert to walk through the home and prepare a report that outlines the home’s major components, their current condition, what needs immediate attention and what will require maintenance after you move in.

As a buyer, your home inspection report offers a deeper understanding of whether the home has been well-maintained or needs major repairs. If you’re not satisfied with the home’s current condition, you can request the seller address the repairs or give you a credit toward the cost of repairs at closing. A report can also help you prioritize repairs and improvements after you buy the home, and plan for upgrades.

Our home inspector will inspect the areas listed below on the duplex:

  1. Foundation
  2. Roof
  3. Attic space
  4. Rain gutters and downspouts
  5. Exterior stucco or paint
  6. Electrical panel, light switches, and power outlets
  7. Thermostats and heating, cooling, and ventilation (HVAC) system
  8. Plumbing fixtures, faucets, and water heater
  9. Appliances
  10. Walls, ceilings, and floors
  11. Doors and windows
  12. Stairs, steps, and railings
  13. Porches and balconies
  14. Walkways and driveways
  15. Basement
  16. Garage

When the home inspection is complete on the duplex, the home inspector will create a report on the findings of the duplex along with pictures to better explain their findings. The report will be available to view in 24 hours of the home inspection.
